About Step Up and Soar

The Harris Hill Ski Jump campaign “Step Up and Soar” will raise funds to build a new tower, replace the stairs leading to the take-off and bring power and water to the hill so we can make the vitally important snow for the event. In addition, the necessary funds will add safety features required by the United States Ski Association, allowing us to keep Harris Hill as a viable annual competition.

The Harris Hill Ski Jump, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that organizes the annual competition and oversees the fundraising and maintenance of the hill. The hill is owned by the Brattleboro Outing Club which was also founded by Fred Harris.

Community members are familiar with seeing hundreds of volunteers help at the Harris Hill event every year, including past jumpers and prize winners. We are all coming together to preserve this Brattleboro tradition to keep ski jumping alive as part of our community’s heritage.
